Speak Agent Academy Launches PD on Demand

September 20, 2022 | Leah Claflin |

Imagine this: You'd like to take a PD course, but you don't have the time or can't fit it into your schedule. Problem solved!

With the new Speak Agent Academy for SY22-23, we now offer many of our PD courses on-demand. Take these courses at your own pace whenever it's convenient. The best part? It's included in your Speak Agent license, so all of the on-demand courses are available to teachers at all current and new district partners!

Course List

Speak Agent Academy is a series of professional development courses that walk content and language teachers through the Speak Agent Strategies and how to apply them using the Speak Agent platform. The new PD on Demand component enables teachers to gain hands-on practice at their own pace and on their own schedule. They also get to experience each Strategy from a student's perspective.

  • #101: Academic Language Learning (available today!)
  • #201: Differentiating STEM & Language Instruction (available today!)
  • #202: Active Reading Strategies (coming soon)
  • #203: STEM Writing Strategies (coming soon)
  • #204: Student Progress Monitoring (coming soon)
  • More to come!

How It Works

When your teachers' login to Speak Agent, they will see a new menu item on the lefthand navigation:

When they click this menu item, it loads the list of available courses. We can even customize which courses display, based on your implementation.

Teachers do the activities just like a student would. They can do the work at any time and come back to it later. All progress is saved. Once a teacher completes a course, they earn a badge certification for that course.

Speak Agent can include reports about on-demand learning progress to district administrators. Just ask your Partner Success Manager!
