The Speak Agent academic language learning platform applies 32 research-based instructional strategies across its varied activities. The research behind these strategies is compiled by the Learner Variability Project, a service provided by Digital Promise. Together, we have co-developed a new tool for deeper exploration of the ELL strategies used in Speak Agent: the ELL Workspace.
The ELL Digital Strategies Workspace is a tool for understanding key digital learning strategies for academic language and English Learner support, as well as related issues and resources. The Workspace links off to classroom videos from educators like you, articles, examples, research citations, and related strategies that connect to our strategies. It also allows you to build your own custom workspaces on DigitalPromise.org.
We co-created this Workspace as a way to address the widening academic language deficit for ELLs. It is also a helpful resource for our school district partners who need additional context for our logic model for Title III grants.
Look out for more resources coming soon!
